Position Summary: An Xposure teacher provides academic and social support to a group of interns. A teacher also provides interns with program and curricular continuity throughout the summer and/or academic year.
Reports To: Education Director/Program Director
Responsibilities:

Reports to and supervised by the Education Director/Program Director
• Ensure the academic and social development of a group of interns throughout the summer and/or academic year.
• Ensure that academic and social goals are achieved for all interns.
• Tutor interns and help them to master the Xposure Science, Technology, Finance and Employment curriculum.
• Develop and conduct daily smart board/technology based lessons.
• Teach interns work ethic by role modeling Xposures’ work/life ethic philosophy known as the 6C’s (Commitment, Communication, Choices, Courtesy, Compromise, Control).
• Recognize and reward interns' effort and good behavior.
• Develop group and individual goals for assigned interns.
• Maintain intern academic portfolios and submit to the Education Director/Program Director as required.
• Document observations of the interns/students and complete all required Progress Reports and online Evaluations.
• Administer Xposure science, technology, finance and employment quizzes and assessments as scheduled.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the parents/guardians and day school teachers of assigned interns including updating and maintaining online Xposure XSCAAPE and other related accounts.
• Monitor interns’ attendance and behavior.
• Maintain classroom supplies.
• Assist in classroom set up and breakdown each day.
• Assist with planning, setup, preparation, delivery and cleanup of breakfast, lunch, snack and other intern and/or family dining activities.
• Assist on all Field Trips with interns.
• Attend all scheduled Staff Meetings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements for Teacher:
Relevant BA/BS college degree. NYS Teacher Certification preferred. At least 2 years experience working with school age children. Computer literacy required. A self starter with a passion to help mold our young people into successful, productive members of society. Background check and fingerprinting required according to Dept. of Education standards.

Requirements for Teacher Assistant:
HS diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year experience working with school age children. Computer literacy required. A self starter with a passion to help mold our young people into successful, productive members of society. Background check and fingerprinting required according to Dept. of Education standards 

Location: Greenburgh
Compensation: Compensation: $14-$30 depending on skill level and specific position
